Description

German tools manufacturer Werkzeugbau Laichingen announced to permanently cease its business operations due to insolvency at the end of 2025, affecting around 100 employees.

The dismissed employees will be offered to move to a transfer agency that will support them during their job search starting from October 2025. In addition, they will receive so-called transfer short-time working allowance. The company also attempts to transfer their ten apprentices to other businesses where they can finish their training.

Werkzeugbau Laichingen first filed for insolvency in July 2025. The appointed insolvency administrator hoped that filing for preliminary insolvency proceedings could help attract new investors that would help the company out of its financial distress. However, by the end of September 2025, the insolvency administrator had to announce the closure as the company's current orders were almost completed with no new orders in sight, which caused the deterrence of new investors.

The company had a 130 year long tradition in the region.
