European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Heineken, a Dutch multinational in the beverages sector, has announced an internal restructuring affecting approximately 400 jobs at its global headquarters in Amsterdam. The restructuring targets corporate and support functions, although specific units affected were not disclosed.
The decision is part of a five-year strategic plan aiming to accelerate the company’s digital transformation, increase agility, and reduce costs. Heineken plans to streamline operations by reallocating roles, automating tasks, and relocating functions to other international hubs, such as a recently announced office in India. This transformation comes amid declining sales volumes in Europe and North America.
The restructuring will involve a mix of dismissals, role reassignments, and relocations. No details are available about social partner consultations or redundancy negotiations at this stage.
Heineken currently employs 1,750 at its headquarter in Amsterdam.
