Description

The German plastics specialist Ensinger, based in Nufringen, has announced plans to cut 100 jobs at three sites in Germany. The production sites affected are Nufringen (Baden‑Württemberg), Rottenburg‑Ergenzingen (Baden‑Württemberg) and Cham (Bavaria). A total of 1,450 people are employed at the three sites.

How exactly the job cuts will be distributed remains open. The company cites weak economic conditions and increasing competition from Asia as reasons for the job cuts.

Talks with employee representatives have already begun. According to the company, there will be no compulsory redundancies; instead, options such as phased‑retirement models and individual solutions will be used.

In total, the company employs around 2,500 people.
