Description

Leprino Foods, an Irish food-manufacturing firm, announced the loss of 132 jobs at its cheese-production plant in Portlaoise, county Laois. The shutdown is to occur in the second half of 2026, as the company transfers production to sites in Northern Ireland and Wales. The plant was built in 2021 as a joint venture with Glanbia – an Irish multinational food company - and will cease operations at the end of the year. The move follows an internal review and reflects a strategic shift away from the Portlaoise facility.
