Description

Orso Blu Impresa Sociale di Valdengo, an Italian social enterprise operating in the logistics sector, has announced a collective redundancy procedure affecting around 137 employees. The layoffs began on 23 June and are expected to conclude by 31 July 2026. The affected unit is the Valdengo warehouse. The restructuring was triggered by Hermes Fulfilment S.r.l.'s decision to terminate its contract with Orso Blu, which had managed the former Bonprix warehouse since 2023. The direct dismissals involve 107 permanent staff members, while roughly 30 temporary workers are also being laid off under the same collective process.

Negotiations have opened with the unions FILCAMS CGIL, FISASCAT CISL and UILTuCS, which have expressed strong concern over the situation and are engaging with Orso Blu’s management. The layoffs have been temporarily suspended to allow for further dialogue.

Updated, 02/07/2026: CGIL, CISL and UIL have signed an agreement with the Ministry of Labour for the exceptional wage guarantee scheme (cassa integrazione in deroga) for employees of Orso Blu working on the Hermes-Otto contract. The agreement will provide wage guarantees until September 2026. Through the Piedmont Region, Unions also obtained an official request for a meeting with Hermes-Otto to open discussions on the future of the site.
