European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
United Utilities announced that it is seeking to reduce its workforce by about 200 before end 2007 as part of its drive to cut costs.
The water and energy group said it would seek additional savings by using fewer temporary staff.
It is aiming to achieve the cuts in its 4,600-strong workforce through voluntary redundancy, and said it would accept the recent final price determinations by regulators Ofgem and Ofwat.
