European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
More than 200 jobs are to go at the engineering company Areva's St Leonard's site. The firm said the cuts were necessary to keep the company competitive in the world market.
Union leaders have described the cuts as a massive blow to Stafford. Areva bought the site from French engineering giant Alstom in late 2003.
