European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Supermarket chain Iceland Frozen Foods is cutting a third of its workforce at its headquarters in Deeside, Flintshire. The firm wants to cut 400 of the 1,200 jobs by the middle of June. It comes a month after the company was taken over by a consortium led by the Icelandic group Baugur. Chief executive Malcolm Walker said Iceland faced ‘immense challenges' and that ‘painful changes' were needed. The company, which employs 20,000 people across the UK, has begun consultations with staff.
