European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Dutch technical services provider GTI, based in Bunnik, central Netherlands, will cut 1,000 jobs until 2008 under a restructuring programme. A part of the 1,000 jobs will be cut through natural attrition. A total of 700 employees will be inevitably affected by forced redundancies. The restructuring plan will be further elaborated in the coming months. The restructuring is attributed to the worsened market conditions and the strategic choice to reduce the number of activities. Under the new structure, GTI will be a network of companies, focusing on specific markets. The company's offices will concentrate on service providing to clients in their own region.
