European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Ekranas, one of the biggest manufacturers of television tubes in the Baltic States, employing 4,679 people, had to dismiss 1,000 workers because of decreased sales of its production. The company experienced 35 million LTL losses in the first half of 2005. The main reason for decreased sales of the company was cheaper production from Asian countries.
