Amicus, the union for skilled and technical workers, is meeting with Coventry's Walsgrave Hospital after it was notified about the loss of 99 jobs in Coventry and Warwickshire. A spokeswoman for Walsgrave Hospital said efforts were being made to redeploy affected staff. The cuts come as Walsgrave Hospital gets ready to move to a new super-hospital site in 2008 or 2009.An Amicus spokesman said the union feared a further 200 jobs could go if primary care and community trusts in Coventry and Warwickshire merged. All four trusts - North Warwickshire, South Warwickshire, Coventry and Coventry and South Warwickshire Mental Health Trust - are under pressure to make savings because of debts.
