European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
GKN Driveline Poland, a subsidiary of the British GKN group, opened the new forging plant in Oleśnica, where metal joints for cars will be produced. The company has already invested in Poland €75 million. The new forging plant is situated in the direct neighbourhood of the GKN Driveline Polska plant in Oleśnica which was built in 1999. Over 410 people are employed there and the plant's customers are: Volvo, Fiat, VW, Toyota, PSA and Ford and other plants of GKN Driveline. Nearly half of the forging plant output will be used locally by the manufacturing plant at Oleśnica for Toyota, PSA and Fiat/Opel programmes, and the remaining production will be used by GKN Driveline elsewhere in Europe.
