European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 25 March 2006, DaimlerChrysler, the multinational car group, announced that they were to cease production of the Smart model 'forfour'. The production of the remaining Smart model 'fortwo' will be completely integrated into the Mercedes organisation. This measure is likely to result in a reduction of 300 jobs at the Smart facilities in Böblingen.
