European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Portucel Soporcel Group, resulting from the union of Portucel and Soporcel, is one of the five largest European producers of uncoated woodfree paper. It employs a total of 1950 workers distributed among 3 different units: 800 in Setúbal, 850 in Figueira da Foz and 300 in Cacia.
The Council of Ministers approved the construction of a new factory of Portucel in Mitrena, Setubal.
The government expects that this new factory will contribute to increase Portuguese exports and estimates that this industrial unit will create 355 qualified jobs.
