Description
Bosch 'Systèmes de Freinage France', or BSFR, the French braking systems unit owned by the German group Bosch, has presented to its works council a restructuring plan that will mean a reduction of up to 371 jobs without redundancies. Despite a business plan launched in 2003 and 2004, according to the company, the braking division continues to generate losses. It predicts that it will not be able to return to the black by the end of this year as it had hoped, due to increases in raw materials costs and downward pressure on prices. Management expected to eliminate (end of 2006) the jobs through the non-renewal of temporary contracts and early retirements.
