Description
Food-processing company Atria has started personnel negotiations. The overlapping operations of Atria Group's subsidiary Liha ja Säilyke Oy, its logistics company F-Logistiikka Oy and Atria Oy will be integrated and reorganised. Cooperation negotiations concerning the entire personnel in Forssa started on 31 July 2006. According to estimates 35 jobs will be lost by the end of 2007. The Forssa factory employs a total of 250 employees.
Sausage production will be transferred from Forssa to Nurmo during 2007. The production of all-meat products, cold cut products and convenience foods will continue at the Forssa production plant. Operations related to logistics, technical running, financial administration and personnel management will be integrated. Furthermore, sales and marketing operations will be also integrated. Atria will focus on developing its Forssan brand. The Forssan brand is the market leader in Finland in the salad product group, and it has also a strong position in the cold cut product group.
The integration of these operations is expected to improve cost-efficiency by nearly EUR 2 million per year. Liha ja Säilyke Oy was incorporated in to the Atria Group in 1999. Liha ja Säilyke Oy manufactures salads, convenience foods, pasties and meat products. In 2005 the company's turnover was EUR 41 million.
