More than 100 jobs will be created in Glasgow and 50 in Leeds when a new broadband service is launched later this year, it has been announced. The service will be launched by mobile provider O2, which last year paid 50 million GBP for broadband provider Be. The company is hiring a total of 170 additional staff to run the service with 120 of those based at O2's customer service centre in Glasgow.
The jobs will range from managerial to specialist technical positions. The development will take the total number employed at the Glasgow centre to 1,500 by the end of the year, the firm said.
