European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Austria’s market leader in shoes trading, Leder & Schuh International headquartered in Graz, which runs five distinct retail chains in a number of European countries, has been expanding both business and workforce throughout Europe for the last years. From 2005 to 2006 the number of stores all over Europe was increased from 287 to 298, with the total staff increased from 2,796 to 3,082. These figures were reported by Gottfried Maresch, the CEO of the enterprise, at a press conference held on 26 April 2007 in Vienna. This development is expected to continue also during 2007.
