European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The board of directors of the Isala Hospitals in Zwolle announced on 14 May 2007 that 250 jobs will be lost by the end of 2007. The reason for this reorganisation is to prevent a financial crisis due to the loss of 1.3 million Euro in the first quarter of 2007. According to the hospital the losses are due to inefficient organisation. Furthermore the management claims that the financial situation is also the result of cuts in public budgets. Further details of this reorganisation have not yet been determined. One third of the 250 jobs will be cut in administration jobs and two thirds in care staff jobs. In the beginning of 2007 Isala Hospital already announced that the construction of a new hospital building had been postponed to a later date.
