European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Elin EBG Motoren, a producer of generators for wind power stations and of electrical engines for railways and tramways, is to relocate its operations from Weiz to nearby Krottendorf and will create 100 jobs in the process. The jobs of the 250 workers at the Weiz site will also be safeguarded, and are to be transferred to Krottendorf. Due to the close proximity of the Krottendorf site it is not thought that many of the workers will struggle to relocate. An investment of 30 million EUR is to be made, and the decision to relocate has been made due to the lack of operational capacity at the current Weiz site. Production at the Krottendorf site is expected to commence in December 2008. Elin EBG Motoren is part of the TRASYS group.
