European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Droga Kolinska, a firm that produces food and beverage products, is to cut 100 jobs in Ljubljana. The firm employs approximately 160 at its Ljubljana site, and management attribute the job losses to the expiration of a key contract with the multi-national group Unilever in January 2008. The job losses at the Ljubljana site are also due to be implemented from January 2008. There has also been speculation that, in the long term, Droga Kolinska will cease entirely their operations in Ljubljana. This speculation has been made on the basis of the high value that real estate developers place on the firm’s location in Ljubljana. Droga Kolinska is a part of the Istrabenz Group. It employs 925 across Slovenia, and also has 24 affiliated firms in South-East Europe.
