European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
LIDL, the German group that retails and distributes food at discount prices, is to create 180 new jobs in Béziers with the construction of a new storage warehouse. The new site will involve an investment of 20 million EUR, and the employment at the site will be created before the end of November 2010. The firm’s announcement of the development of the new site at Béziers follows the announcement in July 2007 that LIDL were to create 440 new jobs in Rennes, Meaux, and Entzheim with the construction of three other storage warehouses. LIDL holds a 4.3 per cent share of the French market for food distribution and one third of the French market for discount food retailing. LIDL operates 1,400 stores in France.
