European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Firstsource, a firm that operates in the call centre sector, has announced that it is to create 800 new jobs in Nothern Ireland. 300 new posts will be created at the firm's existing site in Londonderry, whilst 500 new jobs will be created at a location that the firm is yet to decide upon. 530 are currently employed at the firm's site in Londonderry. Firstsource has received 6.7 million GBP from Invest Northern Ireland, a governmental body that promotes and supports investment in Northern Ireland, to support the new investment. Nigel Dodds, Economy Minister for Northern Ireland, stated that the Northern Irish economy was likely to gain 10 million GBP annually in salaries from the new investment. As of May 2008, it is unknown when the new jobs will be created by.
