European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
M-real, a part of the Finnish Metsäliitto Group, runs one of its paper mills in Husum, Sweden. The Husum mill produces uncoated and coated fine paper and bleached market pulp for end-uses. Due to rising prices on energy and on raw material, the factory is forced to reduce its workforce by 130 employees over a three years's period. The plan is to create the reduction through retirement's measures, however it is still not certain whether this will be possible in the case of all the employees.
