Description
Eaton - a global technology leader in electrical systems and products - is to close its plant in Massa (Tuscany), with the consequent loss of 345 jobs.
The trade unions reacted to the company decision by going on strike; moreover, they seek to involve the national and local authorities in order to avoid the closure of the plant.
Eaton is a diversified, integrated company which operates in five business segments: electrical, hydraulics, aerospace, automotive and truck components. It has around 82,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 150 countries. In Italy Eaton has around 1,500 employees distributed in five plants: Eaton in Pessano con Bornago (MI); Massa It Loc in Tuscany; Monfalcone in Friuli Venezia Giulia; Bosconero and Rivarolo in the province of Turin (Piedmont).
