European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Matador Automotive, a Slovak producer of components for the automotive industry, is to cut 116 jobs due to the decline in car production. The company is located in Vráble industrial park and employs more than 1,000 people. Most of 116 redundant workers are employed on fixed-term contracts. As of October 2008, it is unknown when either the job losses will be implemented by. Recently Matador Automotive became a subcontractor of Volkswagen (for production of car parts for VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne) and invested several millions SKK in technology and logistics.
