Description
AstraZeneca, a pharmaceutical company, has announced that it is to cut 250 jobs from its plant in Macclesfield in Cheshire. The cuts come as part of the company’s plans restructure sites across Europe over the next five years, with Belgium, Spain and Sweden also being affected, although as of 23 November 2008 it is not known when the jobs in Macclesfield will be lost. The company said the cuts were an attempt to improve its supply chain by introducing a regional packing strategy.
