Description
BVT Surface Fleet International, a shipbuilder, has announced that it will cut 135 jobs in the UK, with 100 being lost at the company’s site in Portsmouth. The company stated that it was attempting to reduce duplication of jobs throughout its business, a problem that had been experienced since the company was formed in July 2008 as a joint venture between BAe Systems and VT Group. As of 23 November 2008, no further information has been given as to where the remaining 35 jobs will be lost, or when these cuts will occur.
