European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Burberry, a manufacturer of luxury clothing and accessories, is to cut 290 jobs in South and West Yorkshire. 170 jobs will be lost at its Rotherham plant following the company's decision to shut it down, while the rest will be lost from its sites in Castleford and Keighley. The cuts were blamed on falling demand. As of 20 January 2009 there is no information on when the job losses will occur.
