European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
AMD, a US-based global supplier of integrated circuits for personal computers, has announced that it will reduce the global workforce of 15,000 by cutting 1,100 jobs in a bid to tackle the current economic crisis. AMD will also cut employee salaries: top manager wages are to be reduced by 20%, senior staff members will see their salaries reduced by 15 % and lower-rung staff can expect cuts of between 10 and 15 %. AMD said that the salary reductions are temporary.
