The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Vodafone, a mobile telephone service provider, is to cut 500 jobs across the UK. The firm, which employs 10000 people in the UK, is to cut 170 jobs at its headquarters in Newbury, 180 in Stoke, and a further 150 at its sites in Banbury and Warrington. The company is making the cuts in an effort to reduce its costs. As of 1 March 2009 no date has been set for when these redundancies will occur.
