Description
The Body Shop, a retailer of toiletries and cosmetics, is to cut 275 staff worldwide. The company, which has over 2400 stores worldwide in 61 countries, will make 150 of the cuts in the UK, but no further information has been released as to which other sites will be affected. As of 1 March 2009 the company, which is owned by French multinational L'Oreal, has not announced a timeline for the implementation of these redundancies, and no further information is available as to how many people the company will continue to employ.
