European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
As part of a major internal restructuring scheme, Okin Kft (previously known as Dikon Készülékgyártó Kft) is to create 150 new jobs at its Hajdúdorog plant which currently employs 350 people. Job creation will occur on a phased basis by the end of May; the new jobs are for engineers, operators, storemen and logistics organisers and will be offered first to workers who were made redundant at the recently closed plant in Várpalota. It is reported that fifty of them accepted this offer even though they have to commute daily some 150 kms. For the remaining positions, Okin intends to contract local workforce.
Okin Hungay is part of Okin Gesellschaft für Antrebstechnik GmbH & Co. KG with headquarters in Gummersbach (Germany). The Hungarian facility produces electric furniture moving machines for medical, office and wellness use.
