The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 3 February, local newspapers of Debrecen reported that Ygomi Europe Kft had started a mass redundancy scheme affecting 147 employees. The previous day, however, the company had refused to comment on the issue claiming that it would be illegal to do so until dismissals enter into force.
The company employs approximately 275 IT professionals; the 147 dismissals account for more than 50 % of the company's workforce. Those made redundant in the Hungarian centre may however find new jobs easier than others, as they all have university degree and expertise in IT.
The company is the European operational centre for Ygomi LLC with headquarters in Oak Brook (USA), a provider of innovative software and services.
