European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Spanish supermarket chain Galerias Primero and the trade unions agreed on a downsizing plan for 295 employees, FETICO trade union informed the media. Trade unions UGT and FAGSA will ratify the plan today (30.06.09), while CCOO is expected to give its approval on July 2. The staff-cutting plan will affect employees from the retailer's 74 stores, situated in Aragon. The dismissed workers will receive a gross monthy salary for every year of service with the company. Galerias Primero will give up to 18 months' salaries, worth not more than EUR 60,000.
