European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Bukoza Holding Company, a Slovak producer of cellulose in Vranov nad Topľou, will expand its business and create about 100 new jobs. The business expansion is motivated by the decrease of energy costs as the company will produce heat and electricity from own biomass.
According to the company CEO, Ján Ďurian, also dangerous by-products emerging during the production of cellulose will be utilised for energy production. Investment of about 18 million euro, which is partly financed by EU funds, will reduce external energy supply by about 70%. It will also increase the volume of cellulose production and reduce the air pollution caused by so far used fossil fuels. The energy produced will be also used for heating flats in Vranov nad Topľou and electricity will be supplied to the regional electricity network system.
