The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 11 June 2010, the ferry company SeaFrance Channel presented a reviewed reorganization plan that envisages 725 job cuts (out of 1580 jobs). Initially 482 jobs losses were envisaged in the reorganization plan presented previously at a works council in Calais. Management said the company Ferries has lost 15 million euro in the first semester. "The new plan must implemented on July 21" said the general manager. In April, SeaFrance had been placed under the supervision of the court. The union majority CFTD voted in favour of the plan hoping that there will be no compulsories redundancies.
