European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Vodafone Hungary has announced that it will hire at least 350 new employees this fiscal year, as itexpands its financial and client service centres. The chief executive announced that 200 people will be hired for the global financial services centre for other Vodafone units, adding to the current number of 300 employees, while between 150 and 200 people will be hired for its client services centre in Hungary, which currently has 150 employees. Vodafone Hungary reported that it added 30,000 subscribers in the fiscal year ending 31 March 2010, despite a declining number of phone subscriptions across all networks. The mood at Vodafone Hungary is therefore upbeat in a difficult market.
Although mobile penetration is around 117% in the country, so further subscriber uptake might be unlikely, the operator will be confident of continued growth in the mobile Internet sector in which it has fared well since launching services over five years ago.
