Description
Cartiera del Garda, a historical Italian paper mills, plans to cut 100 jobs (out of 300) by the end of 2010. The company has announced the closure of one of the two production's lines, at the plant of Toscolano Maderno, in the province of Brescia. According to the company, the closure is mainly due to the recent fall in demand and obsolete manufacturing processes.
The trade unions and the local authorities have asked the company to provide alternative solutions in order to avoid the job-cuts.
Cartiera del Garda belongs to the Burgo Group, one of the world's leading producers of coated papers.
