European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Zakłady Chemiczne Police announced that it will implement a reduction of its workforce. The reduction will cover 600 jobs by the end of 2011. The company will introduce a voluntary dismissals programme, which should cover 120 employees and 480 jobs will be cut by the direct dismissals programme, which will cover 200 production workers, 150 office workers and 40 workers from sale department.
Police is one of the largest Polish companies in the chemistry business, well known for manufacturing ammonia and acids as well as compound fertilizers.
This is an update of factsheet 15866 (factsheet ID). The earlier announcement indicated that the reduction of the workforce will cover from 250 to 300 people by the end of 2010.
UPDATE JUNE 2011:
In June 2011 Zakłady Chemiczne Police and the local trade unions signed a collective agreement envisaging a total of 600 job losses by the end of 2014, of which 200 job losses in 2011.
