Description
On 18 November 2010 Arkadiusz Aszyk, a board member of Stocznia Gdańska, announced company's plans to hire from 200 to 400 production workers in 2011. Stocznia Gdańska, a company specialising in ship manufacture, diversifies its production activities. The company started to produce wind farms and other steel constructions. The yard's newly-launched wind-tower construction facility provides jobs for 87 workers and according to Arkadiusz Aszyk number of workers will rise to around 250 within 2 years. The board member also said that in three or four years the ship yard expects to have around 2,000 shipbuilding workers and another 550 involved in other activities. At the moment, the company employs around 1,700 people including 900 shipbuilding production workers.
