European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Alestis Aeroespace has lodged an employment regulation (ERE de Extinción) affecting 195 people from the group of 348 former Delphi workers. The 348 workers were hired by Alestis in 2009 when Delphi closed. At that time, Alestis reached an institutional agreement with the regional government of Andalucía (Junta de Andalucía) for provision of training and subsequent incorporation of the employees. Given that 195 of the former Delphi workers will be dismissed, the company will have to return the public aid received from the regional government for outplacement services.
The management stated that the company intends to negotiate a social plan to minimize the impact of this measure on the affected workers and help them to reintegrate into the shortest possible time in the labour market.
