European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
State run-channel BNT has announced more than 450 layoffs out of a total workforce of 1,633 employees. The redundancies will affect four regional centres - Blagoevgrad, Rousse, Plovdiv and Varna. According to information that management of BNT sent to the labour inspectorate, the layoffs will be completed by the end of May 2011. Out of the 450 employees who will receive layoff notice, 75 are in retirement age. In 2010, the average monthly wage at BNT was of BGN 1,010.
