European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Nefab Packaging, a packaging manufacturer, has announced the creation of around 100 new jobs at its new plant in Estonia. Nefab Packaging is the Estonian subsidiary of the Swedish Nefab Group. The new plant is to open in spring 2012 in the Lagedi industrial park. This expansion will double the current manufacturing capacity and increase the number of employees up to 200.
The company states that recent economic developments in the region and the Estonian economic climate have led to the decision of widening activities in Northern-Estonia. This includes the increasing demand in the regions that are directly serviced by the Estonian company - Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia.
However, the manufacturing volume of the whole group has been reduced in Sweden - its country of origin.
