European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 17 November, the French subsidiary of U.S. pharmaceutical Abbott has announced to its works council the sale of R&D Laboratories Fournier (300 employees) affecting 200 employees. Laboratories Fournier will be sold to the newly created company Inventiva. A social plan will be launched promoting internal and external mobility. 60 employees could make the choice of a voluntary departure in form of an early retirement plan.
Abott plans to support Inventiva financially for the coming 5 years and will sign two contracts with Inventiva in order to commit the new company to research for Abott. The aim of the new company is "to have very quickly a leading position in external research companies », according to Abott.
