European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The executive board of Carris - Transportes Públicos Lisboa, a land passenger transport company of Lisbon, approved a plan for internal restructuring leading to the dismissal of 635 out of 2500 employees. The plan is part of the strategic plan for transport. The dismissal will mostly affect older workers. Every department will be affected, from drivers to services.
According to an official source of Carris - Transportes Públicos Lisboa the dismissals will take place gradually from the end of 2011 and during most of 2012. The dismissals are reported to have an impact on the closure of 90 out of 690 service lines that Carris operates.
