Description
On 14 December 2011 IT and management consultancy group Logica announced that it will cut 1300 jobs in 2012 in Europe. Most of the jobs will be lost in customer-focused positions, with up to 550 redundancies in the Netherlands and Belgium and another 450 jobs cut in the UK and Sweden. The company expects the loss of another 300 jobs in its central functions.
Logica points to the uncertain economic future to justify the decision. Many of the company's clients are reducing or postponing their investments in information technology. Other restructuring measures include a reduction of office space by encouraging employees to work from home.
The UK-headquartered IT and management consultancy currently employs 41,000 people worldwide.
