European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
In a press release from January 18th, 2012 the management of the Denmark-based multinational dairy group Arla Foods announced that 143 people will be affected by relocation. The production of cheese in the two dairies in Klovborg and Hjørring will be relocated to the dairy in Taulov. As a consequence the dairies in Klovborg and Hjørring will be closed, the former on the 31st of March 2012 the latter in mid-2013.
Consequently, 106 employees in Hjørring and 37 in Klovborg will lose their jobs. However, the concentration of activities in Taulov results in 43 new jobs, which brings the total redundancies to 100.
Arla has 16,000 employees worldwide.
