Description
Stora Enso, a Finnish-Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer, is planning another round of internal restructuring (for previous redundancies 2011 see here) and will reduce their workforce by 130 people in Hylte, Skoghall, Skutskär, Fors and Kvarnsveden in Sweden.
Reasons for the cuts are the need for increased efficiency of maintenance operations and the need to sustain the company's competitiveness, according to the company. In total 800 people work in maintenance at the affected units.
Final decisions on the redundancy programme will be taken when the local negotiations are completed. Stora Enso ensures they will work in cooperation with the local society to help affected employees find new employment. Vacancies at other Stora Enso units will be made available to them.
