European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Swedish producer of stainless steel products Sandvik reduces their workforce in Hallstahammar by 100 people in the business area Materials Technology. The workforce reduction will take place during the next 18 months.
The purpose, according to the company is to enable a shift in the product mix to develop more advanced and profitable products in important key segments, such as the energy sector. In November 2011 an additional 295 employees were made redundant at Sandvik, 230 in Sandviken and 65 in Hallstahammar, see factsheet 19064.
